Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of the Emergency Department Team working to assist the Medical Team Leader (MTL) and the Nurse in Charge (NiC) with the monitoring and management of the flow of patients through the Department by facilitating an efficient, effective and timely management of the patients pathway. This monitoring and management should include, but is not limited to, patients in Triage, Resus, Majors and Minors.

The role will also ensure breaches of the 4 hour and 12 hour standards are monitored and escalated as required and that correct breach processes are adhered to. 

Excellent communication skills are required as the post holder will support the clinical team to challenge the progress of patients journeys with all members of the clinical teams to include Consultants, Nursing, Support Services, Ambulance staff etc. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated in English and Maths to GCSE or equivalent experience
