Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will have a close working relationship with other members of the financial control team. The post holder will also have a key role in the monitoring and supporting the compliance of financial controls, particularly through liaison with NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, and Internal Audit colleagues as required.

In addition to nurturing internal relationships, this role requires a good communicator who will develop and maintaining strong and effective relationships within finance and with senior managers in other Directorates.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Student account member of CCAB institue or ability to demonstrate qualification by relevant and significant experience.

  • Senior finance experience in large organisation.
  • Experience in finance function, particularly in the areas of Management Accounting, Sustainability and Reporting.
  • In depth knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and financial aspects of NHS legislation and policy
  • Experience of dealing with complicated situations and the delivery of challenging corporate objectives.
  • Experience of working within a complex and policitically sensitive organisation.
