Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to provide specialist financial information support to clinical and corporate departments across the organisation. The post holder will be a specialist in their particular area and will work with operational managers and their staff to develop detailed understanding of the organisations financial information requirements.

The post holder will lead discrete pieces of analytical work and be responsible for advising on specialist information issues. The post holder will support a range of projects, providing specialist information advice and analysis.

The post holder will be responsible for developing new reporting tools and techniques and ensuring that the department is maximising its use of appropriate technologies to ensure the provision of a high quality information service.

    Essential criteria

  • Sufficient experience in an analytical/reporting role across a number of areas.
  • A specialist knowledge and understanding of the Health Boards computerised systems.
  • Experience of working with a range of statistics with a high degree of numeracy.
  • Specialist knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products (particularly Excel and Access)
  • Specialist knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (particularly QlikView and Power BI)
  • Ability to comprehend and work within the Health Boards policies of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
