Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for the post of Portering Services Supervisor at Ysbyty Maelor, shifts to include weekends and evenings. 

Portering Services provides essential support to all areas of the hospital. The Portering Services Supervisor will be expected to react to the various challenges within the working environment, and the workload may be increased due to external influences including the environment, weather, patient capacity etc. The Portering Services Supervisor will work as part of a team contributing to the smooth running of the service, providing an efficient and effective response to requests for patient movement, assistance in emergency situations, collection and delivery of samples and medicines etc, whilst ensuring that other tasks such as collection and delivery of meal trolleys, linen, goods and mail etc are carried out in a timely manner. Whilst many of the tasks are generally routine the daily functioning of the service may be unpredictable therefore a flexible approach is essential and the post holder will be expected to use own initiative.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
