Main duties of the job

A vacancy has become available for a HCSW.

Our aim is to provide quality, planned care for the patients. The successful candidates will work as part of a team of nurses responsible for providing, maintaining and co-ordinating a high standard of planned holistic care and nursing treatments, under the indirect supervision of the nurse in charge of the Hospital.

The role involves assisting patients to meet their personal care needs, recording observations and completing bedside documentation. Health Care Support Workers are also required to carry out general cleaning in the clinical environment by preparing bed spaces and cleaning equipment.

In each shift, HCSW are allocated to provide care for a group of patients. Duties include but are not inclusive to providing personal care; assisting with serving meals and drinks throughout the day; recording observations and accompanying patients for investigations.

  • Evidence of completion of QCF at Level 2/to obtain or equivalent within 6 months whilst in post Knowledge of consent and patient confidentiality.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues.
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
