We are now looking to recruit a Community Relations Officer to join the team.

About the project

CMDP is a joint venture between Costain and MWHT and delivers a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half its region (Kent & Sussex).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage dissemination of relevant up to date information between project delivery teams and client/external parties

• Assist with client communications – internal / external – including social media/flyers/filming

• Assist project delivery teams with communications with all relevant 3rd Parties (emergency services, utilities, businesses/communities, and access & acquisitions) either directly or through respective client teams

• Respond to complaints and enquiries (including liaison with UU Planning team on formal responses to planning objections/comments) and manage communication of any post agreement/approval changes

• Organising volunteers / STEM Ambassadors and Apprentices / Work experience placements / Site Visits

• Liaise with local authorities around the project either directly or alongside client stakeholder teams

• Assist with production of graphics to be included in presentations and external publicity (including fliers, PowerPoint, and Word documents)

About you

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Be able to manage a heavy workload, have excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and IT skills with experience of using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams packages

• A positive approach to supporting team members and working independently to meet or exceed all the requirements of internal audits and Client expectations

• You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently and assertively with a variety of people at all levels

• A friendly and approachable attitude with a “can do” attitude

• It would be desirable to have experience working in construction / major projects
