Power Systems Consultant

Location – St Helens
Salary – £30, to £40, + company benefits

The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Power Systems Consultant to work for a growing developer / consultancy within the Renewable Energy sector based in St Helens. The Power Systems Consultant will work closely with the Connections Manager, and will communicate with DNO’s and TSO’s on daily basis to initiate meeting’s.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in power systems (at least 2 to 3 years) i.e. understands the basics of load flow and fault level
  • Understands renewable energy technologies such as Battery energy storage systems (BESS), Solar Farms and Wind Farms, and how they work
  • Passionate to work in renewable energy sector
  • Understands how distribution and transmission networks operate or some experience dealing with DNOs and TSOs
  • Comfortable speaking with DNOs and TSOs to be able to initiate meetings with them on his/her own
  • Coming from a professional working environment
  • Able to work from the office in St Helens.
  • Preferred to have some experience with power purchase agreements (PPAs)
  • Understands substation design and what’s involved in making a connection
