The Role

We have an exciting vacancy for a registered Veterinary nurse to join our team at Stapenhill to cover maternity leave on 12-month fixed term contract from June 2022. This is a part time position of 34hrs a week including a share of evening and weekends. Alternative working hours would be considered but this would need to involve evening and weekend work. The successful applicant needs to be a good communicator, trustworthy and a team player.

You will join a friendly and supportive team of 8 vets and 8 nurses including an SVN. Our well-equipped surgery has facilities for medical and surgical care of patients, treating a varied case load of companion animals, birds, and exotics. Surgical caseload includes, neutering, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and dentals.

The role involves a variety of first opinion practice roles including monitoring anaesthetics, assisting with imaging using radiography and ultrasound, completing laboratory samples, nurse clinics and assisting Vets consulting. There will also be some time spent at our Stretton and Hilton practices. The salary for this role is up to £23,829 FTE depending on experience.

The modern equipment at Stapenhill and Stretton practices include digital x-ray, ultrasound, and dental x-ray. We have two operating theatres plus three consulting rooms so therefore provide an all-round service.

About the Team and Culture

We are RCVS accredited for small animal general practice and we have a team of 8 vets supported by a number of qualified and experienced nurses, we also have client care advisors as the first point of contact with our patients and their people. Stapenhill is an ISFM silver cat friendly practice.

Applicant Requirements

  • Nurse clinic knowledge would be advantage
