This post is a 18 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position.

Procurement, Commissioning & Facilities (PCF) is the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) established from 3 former Divisions within National Services Scotland (NSS) – National Services Division, Health Facilities Scotland and National Procurement.

The National Specialist and Screening Directorate of PCF plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates.

Within NSD, the Screening Team facilitates the consistent, effective and co-ordinated delivery of national screening programmes across Scotland, through the national co-ordination and commissioning of screening programmes. National screening programmes are designed to detect early signs of disease or condition in those who may appear otherwise healthy and provide a reliable method of referral for diagnostic testing and further treatment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Screening Team as an Assistant Programme Manager, to support the delivery of a national audit within the Scottish Cervical Screening Programme.

This is a high profile, complex national audit and the ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Scottish Cervical Screening Call/Recall system (SCCRS), along with experience of audit methodology, programme management and population-level screening programmes.

This dynamic and challenging post requires excellent skills in data management, problem solving and facilitating change in a complex, and dynamic environment to ensure the delivery of the audit. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering this national audit and will work closely with public health and clinical colleagues in NHS boards across Scotland. The post-holder will be part of a small audit team within the Screening Team and will deputise for the Audit Programme Manager, as required.

The post will be based in Edinburgh at Gyle Square where the majority of NSD are based (with second office in Glasgow), with frequent travel throughout Scotland. A pool car is available for business use. Our benefits package includes a pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
