The role

Warrington EPS is a very friendly, energetic, and forward thinking team which is highly regarded by schools and other service users in Warrington. Our team consists of experienced psychologists and newcomers to the profession. The EPS makes a valuable contribution to the high quality provision for vulnerable children and young people in Warrington through service delivery to schools and the community, with good links to Speech and Language, the Child Development Centre, the Virtual School for Children in Care, Early Years providers, and other services. We are developing our involvement with young people in post-16 provision. We also lead the Critical Incident Response team with opportunities for new members of the team to .

Our service delivery is carried out via consultations, traditional assessment tools and techniques and creative ways to gain the voice of the child, which is at the heart of all we do. Core LA work is mixed with a traded model enabling us to carry out interventions, systemic work, and work therapeutically.

We value CPD and are committed to using the latest research and techniques. You will be encouraged to follow your interest in specialist aspects of educational psychology to add to the experience and knowledge within the team. We are a highly supportive service where collaboration and peer supervision are actively encouraged. Members of the team are ADOS trained and work alongside health colleagues as part of the local neurodevelopmental pathway. The team are currently prioritising emotional health and wellbeing with LA wide delivery of training on EBSA, ELSA, and restorative practices.

Applicants for the educational psychology post must have appropriate qualifications to work as an educational psychologist including academic and HCPC registration (or be in the process of completing year 3 of the accredited doctoral course and will become qualified within 6 months of taking on the post ).

Additional Information

Salary: Soulbury A, spinal point 2-7, £40,838 – £50,584 (FTE)(SPA points previously awarded will be honoured) – Payable with Soulbury Terms and Conditions. 

(Permanent contract) 37 hours per week full-time (negotiable)

DBS clearance is required.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
