The role of Facilities Technician

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting facilities management activities, including the safe ongoing operations of the business, maintenance, and routine monitoring activities, receiving goods, shipment of finished products, and disposal of wastes. Your impact as Facilities Technician

  • Promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Overseeing the repair and maintenance of facility equipment and systems and managing relationships with facility contractors and vendors
  • Packing and shipping finished products
  • Managing shipping process
  • Manual handling (e.g. moving gas cylinders from delivery area to point of use)
  • Processing and archiving key information related to shipping and / or compliance
  • Maintaining licenses and permits
  • Providing support to the Facilities technicians to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Assisting scheduling of meetings, catering, and special department-related events
  • General cleaning and maintenance

Requirements for Facilities Technician

  • An efficient planner who understands the importance of each process and prioritises it according to the degree of importance
  • An excellent communicator who is capable of maintaining a clear flow of information across the organisation and concerned parties
  • A self motivated individual who can also encourage other staff to achieve assigned goals
  • A stress resistant individual who can deliver excellent performance under high work pressure.
