Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to provide support to colleagues within the department in the provision of a comprehensive Information Service.

The post holder will undertake a range of duties that support the production of key reports and ensure departmental processes are effective. The post holder will support the interrogation of data quality issues and will be responsible for various data inputting and resolution tasks.

The post holder will respond to various ad-hoc requests, signposting people to published information and producing a range of ad-hoc reports where necessary. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • ECDL Qualified or equivalent knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Health Boards PAS systems.
  • Knowledge of the Data Warehouse and associated IT packages
  • Desirable criteria

  • Membership of an Informatics professional body (e.g. British Computer Society or UKCHIP).
  • A Level Mathematics.
  • Experience of using SQL (Structured Query Language) and/or Power BI
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Previous data capture experience
  • Experience in operating computerised administration systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite of products (particularly Excel and Access).
  • Ability to comprehend and work within the Health Boards policies of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
