The Role

37 hours per week, permanent.

This is an exciting opportunity as we move forward with the development of local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services in Warrington. The Council are looking to recruit a permanent Advanced Occupational Therapist to lead and manage the delivery of services for children and young people with challenges to their physical health and those with SEND, including those autistic spectrum conditions, to address any identified challenges so that they are able to fully participate in school and access education opportunities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work alongside allied health professionals and schools so that NHS advice given to education settings is acted on in a timely manner.
  • Support schools to implement any NHS advice for individual learners by brokering access to specialist equipment and/or assessments which may be required.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the development of Occupational Therapy Services for children and young people in Warrington schools, advising the Senior Leadership Team on any gaps in services and drive forward multi-agency commissioning intentions.

    The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
