This post is a 18 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position.

Procurement, Commissioning & Facilities (PCF) is the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) established from 3 former Divisions within National Services Scotland (NSS) – National Services Division, Health Facilities Scotland and National Procurement.

The National Specialist and Screening Directorate of PCF plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates.

Within NSD, the Screening Team facilitates the consistent, effective and co-ordinated delivery of national screening programmes across Scotland, through the national co-ordination and commissioning of screening programmes. National screening programmes are designed to detect early signs of disease or condition in those who may appear otherwise healthy and provide a reliable method of referral for diagnostic testing and further treatment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Screening Team as a Programme Support Officer, to support the delivery of the Scottish Cervical Screening Programme.

You should be a highly motivated individual who has excellent organisational, IT and communication skills, able to work to deadlines and prioritise a busy workload. The post-holder will be a key member of a small audit team within the within the Screening Team, who will work closely with public health and clinical colleagues in NHS boards across Scotland, to support the delivery a national audit within the Cervical Screening Programme.

The post will be based in Edinburgh at Gyle Square where the majority of NSD are based (with second office in Glasgow), with frequent travel throughout Scotland.
