Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time to join us at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We are developing a digitally enabled clinical strategy and have seen rapid developments and improvements in response to the Covid pandemic. The Health Board is committed to delivering an increasing proportion of care and support within primary and community care services in line with Welsh Governments A Healthier Wales plan. Our secondary care services will need to work in support of this with an increased focus on delivering care locally where possible in collaboration with Area partners and regionally where appropriate, operating as one hospital across three sites, providing a network of high quality secondary care services to the population we serve.

Candidates will be required to have an excellent and extensive portfolio of clinical and academic experience and qualifications and the role will require individuals who are driven, ambitious and passionate about patient care and who have a desire to influence at the highest levels working in close partnership with senior clinical and managerial staff and other strategic partners across the wider Health Economy. They will have undertaken or be willing to undertake research to ensure we are developing and delivery the most up to date levels of care to the local population.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Registered clinical qualification at degree level eg Nursing degree or equivalent
  • Masters Degree or equivalent
  • Extensive relevant experience at senior level
  • Post-graduate management qualification or equivalent
  • Leadership training with proven ability to lead and build effective teams
  • A strong published research portfolio
  • Desirable criteria

  • PHD
  • Teaching/assessing qualification
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Evidence of creating and sustaining positive relationships with senior medical, nursing and managerial staff
  • Track record of significant continuous professional and management development
  • Budget management
  • Experience of managing complex change

  • Experience of NHS line management, service delivery and systems of change
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
