The Role
Pride Referrals are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine clinician to support their service between September 2022 and March 2023, covering a period of maternity leave.
The clinical caseload is varied and interesting, and will involve active supervision of ECVIM-CA residents and final year students from the University of Nottingham Veterinary School, who enjoy a structured rotation through Internal Medicine at Pride Veterinary Centre.
The working hours for this role will be 4 days per week, 8:30am to 6:00pm, plus share of the on call rota. We are happy to consider part-time and full-time applicants for this position and are open to discuss flexible working patterns.

Pride Veterinary Centre is the central small animal hospital, forming part of the Scarsdale Veterinary Group and IVC Evidensia, the largest veterinary group in the UK. Pride referrals offers specialist-led services in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, exotics and dermatology, and on-site hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. The state-of-the-art hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team.
We work closely with the University of Nottingham, with veterinary students rotating through first opinion and referral services at Pride, and also support a first-class Internship and Resident programme.
We are located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. The beautiful Peak District is just around the corner.
About the Team and Culture
Pride Veterinary Centre is a fast-growing, state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary referral hospital in central UK. There is a strong collaborative spirit within the clinical team which provides an exceptional level of intellectual challenge and stimulation.
Our internal medicine team consists of four experienced Diplomates, four residents and two medicine interns with support from a dedicated nursing team.
Applicant Requirements
1. Member of the RCVS
2. Diplomate of the European or American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or have completed an ECVIM-CA or ACVIM approved small animal internal medicine residency
3. Teamwork and collaboration skills
4. Fantastic communication skills to engage referral vets, clients and colleagues
