About Policy Connect

This is an exciting time at Policy Connect. With a new CEO at the helm, we have a vision that brings academics, business, industry and the third sector together with policymakers to help inform their decisions with real-world examples and expertise. Through this vision, we want our excellent events and policy reports to compete with the best think tanks in the country. We are now recruiting two Deputy Directors who can help build lead our policy teams to achieve our aims.

We are a cross-party, cross-sector, not-for-profit social enterprise. Our research teams focus on five key policy areas:

  • Manufacturing and Energy
  • Environment
  • Assistive Technology
  • Higher Education
  • Health

We convene Commission-led inquiries which result in policy reports, briefings and newsletters. We also organise networking and ad hoc policy events.

This is an exciting time for Policy Connect. With a new CEO and vision for a future in which Policy Connect significantly raises its profile, this is a great chance for someone to help shape the team with new ideas.

 

About the role

This is an opportunity for someone with policy experience to work across our wide-ranging policy pillars, to help establish this year’s programme of work and set up cross-policy inquiries, to conduct interviews and desk research and to write influential reports.

Our work is with policymakers and many of our inquiries happen in Parliament with MPs and peers, but you will also be working with our stakeholders in business, industry, academia and trade bodies to get as wide a range of views and real-world examples as possible.

 

About you

Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as is an interest in Parliament, government and the policymaking process. You will be a flexible team player who likes a fast-paced policy environment and ideas preferably. You will ideally have at least three years’ experience either working in a specific sector or working on policy, research, analysis and report-writing.
