About the role
Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Health Lead to join our team to work across our section of of HS2, from Leamington Spa to Staffordshire
Role Purpose:
To support the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing in the provision of occupational health expertise to the business. With a particular focus on occupational health compliance and the implementation of health promotion activities and training.
What you’ll be doing
To assure OH compliance across the business, supporting HS&E Managers to meet statutory requirements
To assure subcontractor and supply chain OH compliance. Developing a plan of audit, with documented outcomes of audit
To organise and deliver health promotion activities to the business, including Mates in Mind – Mental Health Training, Annual Health Checks and Flu Vaccinations via 3rd party provider
To create and deliver health-related campaigns, communications, and promotional material
To support the creation and development of all health-related procedures, associated guidance, and plans. Ensuring these are communicated with and implemented effectively across the business
To review several sources of Management Information to identify health trends and actions to improve OH Management across the business
To provide proactive and reactive support to the business to eliminate, mitigate and manage hazards which could cause, disease, illness, or negatively affect health
To develop and maintain training packages & toolbox talks to ensure operational personnel with health responsibilities have the necessary skills and competencies
To support the Head of OH with the management of the outsourced OH service
To communicate effectively and in conjunction with the health team, with all parts of the business to ensure COVID-19 health risks are recognised and properly managed, whilst maintaining the BBV COVID-19 Track & Trace Register
Who we’re looking for
Occupational Health Degree, on Part 3 NMC Register, SCPHN
Extensive experience of occupational health practice covering a wide range of industries
Demonstrable understanding of work-related health issues and implementing preventative solutions to improve workers health
Extensive knowledge of the UK Health & Safety Regulatory framework and legislation pertaining to occupational health
Experience of OH assurance activities.
Competent author of procedures/ process mapping and skilled in use of appropriate IT packages
