Senior Engineer – Permanent Way, Track Projects Job Vacancy in London, England, UK
Transport For London
Assess and prioritise all Capital Works Intervention requests taking into account all influencing factors and strategic drivers
Engage with stakeholders and major projects to ensure synergy
Support Asset Strategy to produce an annualised proposal of track capital works
Undertake technical investigations into sections of track, to the necessary detail, to justify renewal proposals
Lead a team of track engineers, harnessing individuals strengths to achieve team goals and objectives
Skills
You will have the ability to communicate both orally and written with a variety of audiences (Essential)
Be capable of managing your own workload, working as both an individual and within and leading a team with minimal supervision (Essential)
Able to analyse and evaluate data using software such as MS excel (Essential) and more advanced databases (Desirable)
Be capable of undertaking and reviewing others track inspections and dilapidation surveys to assess the condition of the track asset (Essential)
Able to write technical reports in a straightforward and succinct style (Essential)
Knowledge
Hold a Masters level degree in engineering or equivalent experience (Essential)
Hold or actively be pursuing chartered or Incorporated engineer status through a recognised institution (Desirable)
Extensive knowledge of Permanent way, including maintenance and renewals. (Essential)
Knowledge of asset management principles (Desirable)
Experience
Experience of leading teams (Essential)
Experience of working within Permanent way, including practical experience (Essential)
Experience of working in complex scenarios with multiple stakeholders (Essential)
Working in a highly technical environment where you will be required to defend and explain your work to non-technical audiences (Desirable)
