Build strong customer relationships as a field-based sales agent

Deliver effective outcomes as a field-based sales agent

Simplify TV licencing as a field-based sales agent

We help provide simple, effective solutions for customers as part of the BBC TV Licencing account at Capita. As a field-based sales agent, you will visit customers currently without a TV licence at addresses throughout Newport NP postcodes, helping them firstly understand and comply with the legislation behind the TV licence, explaining how they can obtain one, and enabling them to find a payment plan that works for them.

You’ll also keep track of all your visits, and make sure all relevant paperwork is completed as accurately – and in as timely a manner – as possible, so that all our records are up to date.

This is a perfect opportunity for a confident, communicative, active individual looking to kickstart their career or try something new. Along with a starting salary of £22,340, you will also be eligible for an uncapped commission scheme offering an annual average of £5,856 in additional earnings (taking the salary to an average of £28,200 pa uncapped). In addition, an annual business mileage allowance of 45p per mile on the first 10,000 miles travelled (25p per 10,000 miles) paid from and to your home address.

As a field-based sales agent, you’ll be joining an organisation where you can learn new skills, work in a flexible shift pattern with a potential of a four-day working week in either a part-time or full-time capacity, and interact with customers from all walks of life on a daily basis. Experience in a similar role isn’t essential, though previous experience working in a field-based role is desirable. Whatever your professional background, we’ll provide you with all the training and development you need to succeed in this role, as well as opportunities to progress into other roles within the business. What you’ll be doing:

  • visiting customers that don’t currently possess a valid TV licence
  • assisting customers, by helping them understand the TV licence legislation
  • informing customers about the various TV licence payment options available
  • conducting interviews under caution, where necessary
  • documenting and tracking all conducted visits
  • working a hours per week (full-time) or a minimum of 30 hours per week (part-time) on a flexible shift pattern, with 16 hours to be completed between 4pm-9pm Monday-Friday or anytime at weekends
  • What we’re looking for:

  • strong interpersonal communication skills, with an excellent standard of written and verbal English
  • proactive approach to work, and an ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • effective and efficient time management
  • an active individual who can visit multiple locations on a daily basis
  • a full UK driving licence and access to your own car, with at least a year of driving experience
