We have a fantastic opportunity for a General Foreman to join our project in the Southwest where we are a delivery partner on a key infrastructure project. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today.

Key responsibilities

  • Management of the workforce on site to ensure that safe methods of work are used and the effect on the environment is minimised
  • Accountable for Quality, Health and Safety on site
  • Daily allocation of plant, labour and materials

• Supervise the works to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing are maintained

• In conjunction with the engineers, ensure all materials, products and delivered assets are available and within access of the work area

  • Effective management of contractors and contracts
  • Chair key construction meetings i.e. inductions and briefings

• Ensure all RAMS are in place and have been suitably communicated and fully understood

• Ensure ITPs and MARs are in place prior to works commencing and followed/completed during the works

• Be fully conversant with supply chain contract conditions and the attendances from Costain

• Maintain programme and identify opportunities

• Communicate with the project team

• Keep a full and accurate daily diary, including any changes / variations, specialist attendances, upload all daily diary reports onto BC and provide the construction manager/senior agent/works manager with an emailed report at the end of each shift

About you:

  • Managed contractors to safely execute site works
  • Health, safety and quality focussed
  • Good awareness of CDM, construction practices and health and safety legislation
  • Can demonstrate effective stakeholder management and understands the importance of integrated team delivery
  • Contract management experience and can effectively manage daily site works

• Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system)
